News and information about the work of the Mountaineers Foundation.
The Mountaineers Foundations works to leave the legacy of a healthy environment and natural areas for future generations. We believe this can be achieved through preservation, stewardship, education, responsible enjoyment and conservation of irreplaceable natural areas. In partnership with the Mountaineers Club and others, we strive to ensure a balance between human-powered recreation and environmental conservation. The Foundation also manages the 460-acre Rhododendron Preserve in Central Kitsap County. The preserve is one of the last remaining parcel of Puget Sound lowland old-growth forest in relatively untouched condition.
